I have been hunting for a chart to decode my transmission number. It is 9TKM333B. It is a 4x4 K case. I need to find out what vehicle it came out of, engine, etc. I think it is an '89 based on the "9" in the code. However I could have sworn it had a 27 spline input shaft. That can't be right... Should be 30, right?

Anyway, can someone point me to where I can learn more about this transmission?

Have you tried calling the dealer? When my dad worked for one, he could always find that stuff out for my buick.
Depends on how helpful they want to be i guess.

 

LOL... too easy. Must be why I never called. I suppose I can give them a call and see. I suspect the TKM portion helps to identify this was mated to a V8. That is all I really need to determine. Was it mated to a 4.3 or a V8...
