Transmission: 5 spd in two stock auto in other tw

shift kit ddestroyed the car....i think
the shift kit made it so it felt as if the back end of the car was being torn apart along with a loud slam from somewhere in the car now the car wont come out of second the shift kit was uninstalled before the transmission acted up any suggestions?

Sounds like the tranny is bad already. The loud thump is the tranny engaging hard in gear. I don't now how to help you because I don't know trannys. You'll be suprised that nobody here in the tranny board won't help you. I saw no replies so I figured that i can atleast let you know what the thumping is.

working on my dads 88 IROC-z 5.0 TPI wit automatic is that 700R4

yes it is a 700r4. sounds as though something is wrong in the tranny. maybe too much pressure caused something to break or stick.
