700R4 3-4 clutches
Most of the places are selling the Alto power pack for the 3-4 in a rebuild kit. Everyone I have talked to locally recommend going with the Borg Warner 8 friction setup. The only place I see selling this setup is Probuilt. Why is the Alto power pack so popular if the Borg Warner Hi-Energy (green) frictions and steels are better?
What type of material is a black friction disk? Is it Hi-Energy?
Is the Borg Warner Hi-Energy 6 disk with steels capable of handling 400HP if a boost valve, corvette servo, and Transgo kit is installed? Or would the Red Eagle Power back with 8 disc & kolene steels be better?

Could the black frictions be Alto Hi-Energy Graph.... (HEG)?
How do the Borg Warner Hi-Energy green frictions compare to the Alto High Energy Frictions? Not nearly as good or pretty close?

I was looking at the Probuilt clutch packs for 3-4. There is a 7 BW Hi-E .080 friction, 6 .096" steel setup rated for 525-550HP.
What would the 6 disc Borg Warner Hi-Energy .080 frictions with 5 .106 steels be rated for? That is, assuming all other updates are done along with the clutch pack upgrade.

Re: 700R4 3-4 clutches
Anyone know of a forum that discusses rebuilds and different tricks for the 4L60E? I find info sprinkled here and there.
So far the most help I have received is from a large warehouse in terms of live tech help. Which is sad because it is like saying Wal-Mart has the best service. Makco has answered all of the questions I had. Once I get this first 4L60E done I would like to build a better one for the turbo car. I think the Probuilt ProStreet kit will be ordered for that one.
