Re: Rear end question

You have a 10 bolt 7.5 rear end. No need to change the carrier for a gear swap. Only time you have to worry about the carry is when you are buying the gears becuase they have 2 series and 3 series gears. Do you know what gears are in it now ?

I would suggest a lot of reseach. First, find what you have in your cars rear axle. Right now you DO NOT have 8.5" or 10". All 3rd gen cars came with a 10-bolt 7.5/7.625 dia gear or 9-bolt 7.75 dia gear. Again you can't think about gear change until you know what you have and in your case add a lot of money.

Re: Rear end question

You MUST know what you have now before you buy any parts. You must figure out if you have the 7.5 10 bolt or the 9 bolt rear end. Then you must know what gear ration you have now. Then you can figure out what parts you need. When you get the gears be sure to get a good installation kit too. And buy good quality parts. Don't try to save a few bucks on bargan brand junk.
