tq converter

Hi guys. I'm building a 383 stroker. Have 3.23 in rear now plan on getting 3.73's. The guy who is rebuilding the trans reccomends a 2800-3000 stall. He called some place he goes threw and they want 650 for a tq converter. there is a local guy that builds them and he also recommencds a 2800 - 3000 stall he wants 450 to build one. The guy at the trans shop says not to get a 200 saturday night special. which i wasnt planning on. what do you guys think. i was looking at this one here http://www.jegs.com/i/Hughes-Perform...oductId=760484 just not sure how good the brand is or how they hold up. and it also says small bolt pattern what does that mean.

Re: tq converter

with my 383 and a more mild cam I run a vigilante tq converter 3500 lockup. Works great both on the streets and at the strip. I still manage 19 mpg on the roads when I baby it. I think the best converter on the market is a vigilante, and am pretty sure a few members on this board would agree. But I think I paid 699 for mine, with one free restall
