RPO GU6 3:42 Ratio Question Please Help

Hi

I have an 89 Camaro originally was wih V6 2.8 but now I have a 350ci V8 and I wish to put a Limited Slip Differential in my (10 bolt GU6 /3:42)

What you suggest to put on my car? Posi, Eaton, Auburn these are all names seen on ebay!

What size is my diff? 7.5 ,is it 26 or 28 splines?

I want to know exactly before I pay for shipping to ship to Malta as I am from Europe

Thanks in Advance

I responded to your paint thread . In '89 you could have 26 or 28 spline axles as this is the cross over year . To check pull the cover and see if you can count the splines without pulling the axle out . Once you know the splines get a Powertrax locker that replaces the spider gears so you don't have to setup gears . The locker will give you posi while straight and unlock for cornering .

I recommend the Eaton Posi or Duragrip. These are pretty much the same differential except for the clutch material. Many of those differentials that you see on ebay are the Governor Lock, whcih you don't want. They list them as a posi, but they won't hold up well to abuse. The Duragrip is about $80 cheaper than the Eaton. I never recommend the Auburn unless there is nothing else available.

Here is how you install it. http://www.nastyz28.com/forum/showthread.php?t=19773

You're welcome and go to richmand gear website and they offer two lockers the lock right and the traction system . The lock right is more for offroad use so I would go with the traction system for regular driving .
