rearend gear celection???

Engine: 350 VORTEC
Transmission: T-56
Axle/Gears: 4.10
rearend gear celection???

my car is single wheel traction.. i am puting a posi in it. the posi has got 3.42 on it with the thin gear.. i am going to order a 4.10 gear but i dont know if i need the thick or thin gear... what to you guy thank???

i gess what i askin how do you tell the diffance between a 2 series or a 3 series carrier??

If it has a GM 3.42 gear on it then it's the 3 series.

i dont know if that is the factory gear.. How can i tell what series the carries is?

If it has a GM part number on it then it's a factory gear and it wouldn't work on a 2 series.
