t5 flywheel?
Blown 700r4 in my 88 iroc 350, got a deal on a t5 swap figured it was a good time to do it. Got the trans, pedals, hydraulics lower boot and the console piece for a 5 speed for $100. Only thing I'm missing is bellhousing and flywheel.. so my question is will any standard trans sbc flywheel work for this? I've got a stock flywheel out of my old 4 speed nova that's still in good shape and if I can use it will save me some cash. Idk the diameter or tooth count on it but I can check in the morning before I head to work if it makes a difference..

Re: t5 flywheel?
Chances are that it will not work. The early sbc had a two-piece rear main seal. I believe the changeover to the one-piece seal happened in 85, so if your engine is the original, it should be a one-piece rear main. The flywheels are different and not interchangeable, because one is internally balanced and the other is externally balanced.
Assuming that your Nova did not have a later model engine with a one-piece rear main seal, or your 88 iroc did not have an early model engine installed in it, you won't be able to use that flywheel.

Either way, the older style flywheel will NOT work for the 88 irocs motor.
Ternandes will have a freshly surfaced flywheel/bellhousing here shortly, shoot him a PM and see what he wants for them, they will BOTH work for your application requirements.

Re: t5 flywheel?
Yes, that's true. I only didn't mention it because I don't actually have them in hand yet. I will also have a complete clutch assembly to go with it.
Thanks for looking out for me, 89bird.
