tv cable help? i think...
ok i have a 90 camaro rs with a 305, all stock car. when im cruisin down the highway and im in the overdrive/4th gear, when i let off the gas it downshifts one gear to 3rd so when i get back in the gas it hits higher rpms and catches then shifts back into overdrive/4th.
is this the tv cable doing that and how do i properly adjust it or fix it?
thanks

Go to the tech. articles on the main page, NOT the faq. They explain how to adjust the TV cable.

I'd check the fluid level as mentioned by t-top havoc. Be sure to put the vehicle on a level surface. You might also make sure your electrical and hardware (gov, etc)connections are tight on the transmission.

Re: tv cable help? i think...
Sounds to me like it's working perfect.
That's the converter clutch dropping out. Then when you give it a bit of gas again, it re-applies.
Moder transmissions all do that. Some are more noticeable than others, especially in cars with real low-# gears (2.73 and such), like 305 TBI auto cars.
The TV cable has nothing to do with the converter clutch operation; that's controlled by the computer.
