C- clip rear ends

I'm thinking about running the Maxton Mile.

http://www.ecta-lsr.com/?page_id=2

Their rules limit C- Clip cars to 150mph. Are all 3rdGen rear end axles held by C-clips? I've heard the Austrailian 9 bolt rears are different. Any info would be appreciated.

Yep. 10-bolts are c-clips, 9-bolts aren't.

You can buy a bolt-in conversion for 10-bolts, from Summit/Jegs. I think they run about $150.

Yup they sell c-clip elimination kits made by strange, moser. Summit racing offers them. around 150 like stephen said. (go ahead and upgrade the axles while you do this)

Re: C- clip rear ends

You have to be very carefull when buying c clip eliinators. Most of them are made for drag racing only and will not handle side loads from cornering. There are a few that are made for street use. The very best way to eliminate the c clips is to use Moser weld on housing ends that take the press on 9 inch Ford axle bearings. These also require custom Moser axles, but they will handle anything that you want to do without leaking or loosing an axle.
