3rd gen to 4th gen rear end swap

I was wondering if I can put a rearend from a 4th gen in my 84 Z28? I hate the rearend in my car now with the drum brakes and 3.23 gears. Oh yeah, it's a single tire pryer as well. If this can't be done what is another rearend that will work with the same torque arm bolt holes and disc brakes? I have to do this because all the Ford 9's can't beat wrecking yard prices.

I see why it's a popular question, third gens rearends suck. And that feeling is starting spread over the whole car.

Only issue with a 3rd gen rear is when you put in a monster hp motor and go to the track - otherwise there's nothing wrong with a 3rd gen rear.

BTW, the 4th rear is the same 10 bolt rear - nothing stronger or better about it - just slightly longer axle tubes and more of them had rear disc brakes.
