b&m shift kit

ok so i have a 91 camro rs with a 700r4 it has a b&m slap shifter awhile back it got hard to shift and would not go into park i think the cable just kinked up.so now i shift it with vicescripts its possible that park is bad but i dont think it is im going to try to change the cable first...but ther is another cable in the center its not hooked up on that end it runs under my driver side carpet up the dash im wondering what that cable is and what it will afect by not being hooked uphttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MzPf3y6HJoQ

The other cable runs to the ignition switch - keeps the key from being removed unless car is in PARK. Ignition switch is on top of the steering column, under the guages - you have to remove the underdash panel, the panel brace, and the steering column brace, and gently lower the column downwards to get to it.
