I'm installing check ***** into case I removed 5 small ***** and 1 larger ball. My hanyes manual #10360 pg. 8d-39 is telling me to leave out one of the smaller ***** . Where the ball was located the spacer plate has a square hole, is this a prier rebuild boo boo that I'm up against .Do I leave the ball out.This trans is also equiped with a auxiliary valve body with a ball held in place with a retainer .

The Auxiliary Valve body check ball HAS to be put back. If the manual is telling you to leave one out I would. These come stock (at least mine did) with 5 *****, and a lot of rebuilds will leave a few out. I would follow the book as long as it's talking about the right year transmision.
