not shifting into 3rd
I have a 700r4 that was "professionally" rebuilt a few years ago. Never installed in a car. It shifts from first to second great but will not go into 3rd. Its not like it neutrals out it just acts like it only has 2 gears, you can't even manuelly shift it. any help would be great. I want to go to a 5speed but $$$$ is a little tight

If the TV cable isn't adjusted right it can cause this,
However, most likely its got a burnt up 3-4 clutch. This is pretty common in these cars especially if it was driven without a properly adjusted TV cable
