700R4 General Question.

Ok, 700R4s are hydraulically controlled. My first question is, how do you adjust the pressure of the pump in the transmission? My next question is, if you turn the pump pressure down, will that cause you to have the to rev to a higher rpm to build enough pressure to shift to the next gear? And to get it to shift at lower rpm, turn the pressure up?

The reason I'm aking is because my 91 will not shift into second or third unless its at very high rpm (prolly 4K+). My VSS is hooked and working, my speedo is working and reading correctly. No matter how I drive the car, aggressively or very mildly, same result. And it will not go into OD at all, but they may be a seperate issue all together. I'm just trying to get a better understanding of how the transmission works. Thanks.

Not sure on the answer to your pressure questions, but is your TV cable properly adjusted and in good repair?
