parts selection for 700r4 rebild

Hello.
For now i have blown 700r4 she has no 3rd and 4th gear. I suspect 3-4 clutch pack failed. probably the reason was overheating and wrong adjustment of TV cable. not sure for now.
I recently bough another 700r4 which comes from '87+ gmc vandura 2500. I'm thinking about to rebuild tranny and install shift kit (full manual option), 3-4 clutch release springs, corvette servo and .500 boost valve.
I have very mild and strong running 305, 3.42 rear with LSD, and 27'' tyre height. Generally this is my daily driver. however my engine pretty often sees 5500+ rpm, and at weekends i do some drifting, snowracing etc.
some pictures are here:

My main question is oem 3-4 clutch pack strong enough to hold up strong running 305?
What other good parts i can buy for my tranny without braking the bank.
