91 Z28 3rd gear and on is gone, thinking they're fried but I've got a question
Hi, like the title says my 3rd gear is out. When it goes to shift from 2nd it acts like it's shifting into neutral. I think 3rd and 4th are gone but the way it happened has me wondering, it happened with absolutely no warning no previous slipping or anything, I can't remember if i was at WOT or not as it happened like 5 months ago or so but I've had other problems with it that I've had to fix so I'm just now revisiting this issue. Anyway I was wondering if a problem in the valve body (a clog for example) could possibly cause this.

3-4 clutch pack is gone you can replace just the 3-4 or rebuild it

Ok, Thanks. How hard would you rate replacing the clutch pack? I personally have never torn into a transmission, but I do view myself as mechanically inclined, I do my own engine work/repairs, Should I try and tackle it or just take it to a shop?

Removing the tranny is the hardest part just get a 700r-4 manual and take your time.
