Need help

I put a th700 trans in my 1986 z28 it came from a 1986 firebird i adjust the TV cable but it still shifts late any ideas?

It could be something as simple as you having a deeper axle ratio than the donor. I'd start by swapping governors, go back to your old one, see if that helps.
