WC T5 main shaft interchangeable between V6 & V8?
I have a V8 WC T5 and the main shaft is ate up where it meets the input shaft.
I may be able to get a V6 WC T5 cheap.
Does anyone know if the main shaft would be interchangeable between the two?

AFAIK yes it is, as long as it's from a F-body.
A major concern would be, figuring out why it tore up that particular place, and fixing it, so it doesn't happen again. I'd suspect the pilot bearing.

It came from a JY car where the clutch was recently changed by someone who didn't know what they were doing and I suspect pilot bushing also.
Next question is the particular V6 has 274k miles, unmolested, and it looks to be junked because of excessive rust.
What are the chances of it being good?
(i.e. are there any other parts of the main shaft that wear other than end?)
