another V6 t5 question

Car: 1988 TA
Engine: TPI 350
Transmission: auto
Axle/Gears: 3.27's
another V6 t5 question
I know this questions has been asked a billion times but I can never seem to find a straight answer.
Will a 96 v6 t5 fit a thirdgen? Its a 26 spline shaft still and I know I would have to use my 3rd gen bellhousingbut does it bolt to the bellhousing without modification? I've noticed the shaft seems a bit longer from what I remember the 3rd gen t5 being.
If you or you know somebody that's done it let me know please I'm just looking for a quick fix at the moment thanks!
