I was woundering if anyone has installed a shift kit and was it worth it??? My car is a auto 3.1L. Any opinions are great!! thanks!!

this is one kit i saw but there were alot to choose from.. any ideas??

 

The only thing a shift kit does is make the shifts firmer or harder - really won't feel any performance change, just harder shifts. Worth it is up to you - cost is low, but tranny pan must be dropped, losing all fluid, so take that cost into account as well. And then there's the point of having to install it upside down with car jack up pretty high on jack stands. All the small components (check ***** & such) that are hard to hold in place while upside down.

If it were me personally, on a stock V6 car, I'd pass. The only reason I installed one was because my tranny was already out of the car for a rebuild, so I could install easily out from under the car.

 

good point... its looking like ill spend money elsewhere.. like other handling aspects
