Hello,
I hover around the forum and use the search function religously and also googled 1st gear no momentum but have yet to find a good answer.
I was hoping to get some feedback on poosible fix actions for my issue descibed below.
I recently move my Camaro and trying to get out of 1st gear seems almost impossible for my poor car. I havn't had it yet but for 2 months and I bought it as is for a Hobby fixer upper. I am wondering if I should purchase this (new flywheel/plate) http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/moreinfo.php?pk=351108
and or (clutch MC) http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/moreinfo.php?pk=1135799 or go for both?
I have zero clutch or transmission experience and stationed overseas in Korea so any tech installing this items ( except to the clutch MC, I can do that) may have limited knowledge on it aswell.
Thank you for any help you may be able ot provide in this matter!!
Anyone out there willing to take some PMs about some of my questions? Suspension and wether or not I need to purchases some of the items I have planned, I am looking for hobby restoral help nothing performance or overly crazy.., yet...

Re: 1991 Camaro Z28, 305 V8 tranny/clutch help.
Before you go buying parts, you need to diagnose the problem. It may well be the clutch MC, but it may be the clutch slave cylinder, or a bent shift fork, or something else.
Get the car on stands, then test the hydraulics. Have a helper work the clutch pedal for you.

I plan to take it to a post auto shop and have it raised to have alook under it. I am hoping it makes it in Korean traffic! I will see what I can see with my limited skilled eyes and I was told there was a sight mechanic that is well versed in western cars.
Is there a suggested book or manual I can purchase that may help me identify what I should be looking at? I did find the write up on replacing the cluctch MC, wich included pictures, this alone was very helpful!!
Thanks for the reply ronnjonn
