VERY strange transmission mount

Alright, so, we have a 1992 Camaro, RS, Black, T tops, made in September of 1992.

It has a 3.1 60 degree V6 with a 5 speed according to the VIN, but the engine code says it's a 1993 3.4L 60 degree V6.

As if that isn't strange enough, I have included pictures of the hydraulic transmission mount that was on it. We have asked around, all over the place, this mount is not in any catalog, and was not as far as we can tell, ever produced, please help if you can.

The bell sits in a hole in the cross member, the side without the bell attaches to the transmission. It mounts just at the rear of the transmission.

If anyone can help, please, do so, we are stumped.

Oh, and if it helps, the VIN is

1G1FP23T1NL134702

We have the data sheets and even the window sticker from when the car was sold, at a local dealership, as far as we can tell the car was ordered FOR that dealership.

Welcome to TGO.

Looks like that godawful oil-filled monster that some thirdgens were equipped with. More info and pics below:

Thanks for the info, but I'm still a bit foggy how to work this out. Do you know what kind of replacement mount or cross member we could install to remove this "monster"?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

And, thanks for the glimmer of hope so far.

Remove the cross member (to include the mount) and replace it with a standard cross member from a T-5 or 700R4 (I wouldn't use the one with the secondary cross member) and use the corresponding OE transmission mount, which is around eight bucks at any auto parts store, and you should be good to go.

Alright, thanks, I'll look into a new cross member or maybe finding a used one.

Thanks again,

I'll be sure to give y'all a shout if we have any other issues with either of our Camaro's.
