New rebuilt 700r4 shifts hard into gear...

So i had my trans rebuilt back in feb 2011. The trans seems like it shifts hard into gear sometimes cutting the car off. Last weekend i was under my car checking the u-joints just for the heck of it and noticed the rubber trans mount was completley ripped in half. Being mechanicly inclined and cheap as hell i removed the upper plate that bolts to the trans and the lower piece for the crossmember and cut all the rubber out. After cleaning them up nicely with a die grinder i welded them together and bolted the mount up. After the surgery the problem still exists so now im to believe that the torque converter is to blame and its still under warranty. Any suggestions on this??

Re: New rebuilt 700r4 shifts hard into gear...

Check your TV cable. I had AAMCO work on mine, because I thought the shifts were a bit abrupt and "jarring", and that included initially putting it into gear. They indicated to my that the PO had put a shift kit in it and that was the reason. I did some reading on this site and set the TV cable correctly, and immediately my car shifts smoothly...goes from park to drive like butter. I'm not sure by your post if this is an auto or manual. I suppose this wouldn't apply to the manual. Ken
