TCC connector won't go into its plug...?

When I got the car the TCC connector was dangling underneath and would not plug in, I had assumed this was from it dragging on the ground and getting all buggered up...After putting a brand new connector on the wires, the new connector won't plug in either.....
I am going to lower the trans on tuesday to take a look at it, but anyone have any idea why it wouldn't go in? And before anyone asks, yes its the correct connector, and yes I had it facing the right way, even tried facing it all the other ways just in case the new one had its tab on a different side or something.

what housing are you referring to? It did occur to me that part of the old connector might have broken off in it, but I checked the old connector and it was all in one piece still.
