Quick question about bw super t-10
Hello forum
i have an 1982 z28 camaro with the automatic/crossfire combo
motor blew up this summer so i pulled the motor and tranny
now i have a borg warner super t-10 thats sitting around and was
wondering would i be better off buying a t-56 swap kit from hawksthirdgen cost wise?
p.s. ls1 or crate 383?

Re: Quick question about bw super t-10
There are people who will do surprising things to acquire that T-10 swap...
CAREFULLY remove EVERY piece and preserve it; nuts, bolts, clips, wires, linkage, EVERYTHING. THe pedal assy is unique, the BH is unique, it has the little bracket thing on the frame that the Z bar attaches to, and so on; and virtually EVERY SCRAP of it has been discontinued. It is all but impossible to put that setup together except as a whole out of an unmolested car.
It ALL has to come out to do a T-56 swap anyway, so mostly it's just a matter of being careful and meticulous, and making sure you get EVERY piece all in the bag or bos or whatever so that it is as INTACT as possible.
"Better off" is hard for me to tell you, about something like that; but I will say, having basically the identical same gears 1 - 4 as you have now, plus 2 overdrives, is AWESOME. Then all you need is a set of 4.10 gears. I have 3.73s with my T-56 and always wish I had more.
