Is a lighter flywheel worth it?
I understand the benefits a lighter flywheel has, but will it be a good idea on my car specifically? It's a mostly stock L98 with a (soon to be) T56 and a 3.70 rear. It's a street car primarily and sees occasional drag strip and autocross use. I'm trying to make it a good all-arounder. The flywheel I'm looking at weighs 18 lbs and the stock LT1 T56 flywheel weighs 28lbs I believe. Will an 18 lb flywheel destroy streetability? Is this a good match for what I'm doing with the car, or am I better off just saving my money and using the stock one?

Yes I will change the way you drive it. You'll have to rev it a bit more when taking off from a stop..

Yeah, what they said. It's weird having to rev-match on the upshift when you're not really leaning on it. Under power, everything matches up nice though. And yeah, pulling out take a bit of getting used to. For autocross, it'll be a huge gain due to better transitional response.
I have an aluminum unit of unknown origin (came with the car) which appears to come in at about 11 lb. I would not give it up for anything.
The quick revs are amazing, the off-throttle response is awesome, and I do enjoy the fact that it give the motor a real "racy" sound and feel (normally not into that aspect, but it is freakin cool in this case).
