depends on what gears you have in there now. I would guess a 2.73 and if it is it will not work because 3.08 and down ratios have a series 2 carrier(differential). 3.42 calls for a series 3 carrier
cheapest way to get a 3.42 ratio is to find a v6 camaro in the junkyard, pull the cover to be 100% sure that its a 3.42, and remove the whole rear end, brake drum to brake drum. it'll cost u around 100 bucks and its ready to bolt in. you'll have over 100 bucks in the installation kit alone(shims,crush sleeve, bearings,seals, etc...) to change gears in a rear end. then you have the gear cost, pay someone to do it or buy the tools and do it yourself. gets expensive when there is a ton of them ready to go in junkyards that already have that ratio.
