3.23 to 3.42 rear end gears
3.23 to 3.42 rear end gears
Just bought an auburn posi for my iroc and im trying to decide if i wanna change the rear end gears at the same time. I use the car to go back and forth th work in the summer and drag race it at a local track a couple times a month. If anyone could help me with some info on if it would really help alot with 1/4mi times and if it would kill gas milage it would help. Oh the car has a 3 speed th350 tranny so i dint kno how much more it would rev with 3.42

Re: 3.23 to 3.42 rear end gears
I asked this a while back on here and 3.73 is the best for a th350 in our cars. 3.42 would work nice with the fuel cost and all.

Re: 3.23 to 3.42 rear end gears
i ran a turbo 350 with 3.42s for a couple years and
though engine ran at around 3200-3500 RPM as i
recall at highway speeds,it didn't bother anything and
still got decent milage
Later when i decided to get the
A/C hooked up and working again i swapped in a 700r4
