When should an aluminum rear end girdle cover be used?
I have the rear end out and I'm about to paint things. I'm trying to decide whether to keep the stock rear end cover or not.
I have a 1991 305tpi & T5 with plans for modifications that likely won't break 260hp.
I have 3.73 Richmond thick gears and the rear end was just rebuilt.
Is it typically guys putting out big numbers that need these for strength?
I won't be drag racing it. It will be DD status with occasional aggresive driving.
So...should this rear have an aluminum girdle cover or should stock be good enough?
Thanks!

OE under those circumstances should be good.
