1984 LG4 Trans AM -10 Bolt disk to 9 bolt drum swap

Hey all, I am looking for some info and cant find what I need on my search. I have just obtained a drum brake 9 bolt posi with 3.42's, and want to swap it in my stock disk brake rear Trans-Am (open diff 3.23).

My question is: Will the stock disk brakes from my 10 bolt swap on directly to the 9 bolt housing? The 9 bolt's drum backing plates are shot, I am crossing my fingers I can bolt on the disk assy from my ten bolt and make everything nice and easy.

I know my ten bolt rear disks are not ideal, but I'm trying to keep costs down right this moment, I just finished my 383 install with mild stall, and anticipate some serious traction issues..

If it's a no go and the only option is 9 bolt specific brakes, I'll wait for a 4th gen rear, or upgrade the 10 bolt to posi when time and money allows.

Any help appreceated!

At least the mounting plate is different. They can be had for $60-$80 or so.

The drum and disc axle flanges are different, so modification would be required Moreover the 9- and 10-bolt have different bolt patterns. You can purchase the correct backing plates for PBR's, but not for standard discs.
