Will my T10 flywheel work with an LS T56

My pre 86 car has a 2 piece rms sbc with a factory borg warner t10. I have already done a Ram hydraulic clutch conversion 'works GREAT' and am now curious which tranny is easiest for me to swap to. Can someone tell me if my existing flywheel will work with a lsx t56? I know it won't work with the lt1 t56. I have read somewhere that i could use my existing clutch, flywheel and, bell housing with an adapter plate and a ls1 t56. Can someone tell me if this will work or do i need to get a different clutch and flywheel? The reason i'm curious is because my flywheel is fairly new and purchasing an adapter for a ls t56 is cheaper then replacing the flywheel.

MODS: am not cross posting, i just realized i asked this in the wrong section earlier.

I still run the '82 mechanical linkage with my ls t56 swap. Been together for five years now with no issues.

I had to run an extended pilot bushing to suppport the input shaft but aside from that and the adapter plate the trans bolted up to all of my stock t10 parts.

Re: Will my T10 flywheel work with an LS T56

You can get it to work. Thats basically how I have my T56 setup because I'm using a T56 out of a 03 Cobra. I'm using the mid plate off the Cobra trans with the tube for the throwout bearing cut off. Then bolted to the .5" adapter plate and a Lakewood bellhousing. You could probably use your exsiting bellhousing though. I'm also using a Ram hydraulic throwout bearing. You can use a LT1 T56 but you will need to swap out to the longer LS input. You'll also need to use the extended pilot bushing.

Ram makes one for that, actually.

82 bellhousing + adapter plate (w Ram throwout) + LS T56 = more alignment dowel locations to be potential problems and shortened driveshaft. The shifter location is a little more into the floor brace this way than the LT1 T56 too.

93 bellhousing + T56 (w/ the Ram throwout for that) works and you could use a stock 83-02 driveshaft. See the LT1 T56 swap sticky thread; should have info on shifter location.

Most all else will be the same.
