Re: T-5 starting issue
It's not a "sensor", just a switch.
It's on the clutch pedal.
It performs the EXACT SAME function as the neutral safety sw on an auto car does: prevents you from starting the car in gear. Imagine if you will, a car with a remote start, and that switch bypassed.
Wires are yellow and purple. I STRONGLY advise against "redo"ing ANY wires; especially ones like that, that NEVER go bad unless sodomized. Instead, just look at em and make sure they're hooked up right. You could even make yourself a little jumper with a short piece of wire to plug the car harness onto instead of the switch, if you think the switch is defective.
If you think you've got wiring and electric problems now, JUST WAIT until you get in there and randomly hack on some stuff without understanding what it does or why it's there or what it's for, as would clearly appear to be the case... that's about the best way I can think of to end up sitting by the side of the road with your significant other riding off in disgust in your worst enemy's import.
