speedo cable help!
Hey everyone. I had a couple of questions concerning my speedo cable. I have a BW T-5 and a stock 3.42 open diff. First question, when I go to remove the cable from the trans to check if its broken, will tranny fluid spill from the hole? Next question, whats the best way to remove it and test its function? Thank you.
Re: speedo cable help!
ok to remove it you shouldnt get more that a couple of drops of oil ... than to check the cable ... put and electric drill to the tranny end on the cable spin it and see if you gauge goes up or not

Re: speedo cable help!
FYI: If you have the stock two part cable you should replace it. I strongly recommend to all my T56 speedo drive conversion customers that it be replaced. They seize and tear up the drive gears. And you have to remove the trans to replace them. Happened to me and two of my customers before I started recommend it be replaced.
The cable is cheap, $10 at Orielly's or Auto Zone. Part number CA-3001
