How's everybody doing this evening? I have a 91 camaro, 350 engine, I just installed a new dif. with 3:73 gears, I had 2:73. Since changing the rear end my trans. won't shift at WOT. It does have a shift kit I installed several years ago. Under normal driving it shifts OK. I searched alot of threads on here and alot of people had this problem, but I didn't read about a fix. I have not pulled my governor to check it.I see where Summit has a Gov. recalibration kit, I would like to know if anyone has used it with good results.Thank You

 

Into what gear?

Will it shift if you do it manually ? A quality shift kit should allow manual shifts

 

I haven't tried to manually shift it, It's a B&M transgo kit. It won't shift from 2nd to 3rd. When I get off work tonight I will find a strech of road and check other shifts

 

Ok went out and flogged my car tonight, it will shift from 1st to 2nd at about 4500 rpm, but not from 2nd to 3rd, l let it run up to 5500rpm. Also it wont 't manually shift into 3rd at WOT. if you let off the gas a little it will shift into 3rd. I didn't notice this problem until I installed the new rear gear.

 

Is the TV cable that controls the shifts adjusted correctly?

 

Yes. whem I installed my shift kit there was instructions on how to set the TV cable according to Trans pressure. I have since lost these instructions, so now it is set by the normal method
