Prothane Transmission Mount
I have the 7-1604 mount. The stud does not fit through the crossmember. It is 7/16 and the old mount is 10mm (just over 1/32" smaller). Is this normal and I just need to open up the slot in the crossmember a bit?

Its normal. Just file the hole open alittle and you'll be fine.

Some members experience vibration issues with poly. You might take note of the following:

Re: Prothane Transmission Mount
I have seen that thread. It is fairly useful but seems to be flawed. The poly mount by nature will transmit more noise and any existing driveline vibration. No way around it. People replace only that mount and then blame it for the problems that arise when it could be a vibration due to an imbalance of the drive shaft or bad u-joints or bad angles due to lowering or possibly even worn out engine mounts - things that the softer rubber mount may hide. I didn't notice an instance in that thread where someone absolutely had everything right and still had a bad vibration when the only thing changed was the transmission mount. Mine is not going to be right, yet but I figure that I'll try it since a handful of people seem to not have problems.
I've also seen a lot about the replacement rubber ones failing much sooner than they should, even on unmodified cars. If I do have issues with the Poly, is there a particular rubber mount that lasts a reasonably long time? The one I will be replacing has a guaranteed 70,000 miles on it, probably more. I don't expect that out of a replacement, but to have to replace it once or more a year is not cool no matter how easy the job.

Re: Prothane Transmission Mount
Iv installed the poly on my car and have no extra noise or vibrations. But iv got fresh motor mounts on my car and will soon have a new poly torque arm Mount and new joints. But I noticed nothing different about my poly trans mount
