4L80E questions

So if I use an earlier version, like a '94, I can use the cooler lines from a 700R-4? But it won't have all the bellhousing bolt holes to the block, but does that matter at 300 HP? Does it matter at 1000 HP? '91-'93 wiring was different, can I just grab the wires from a later 4x4 version? And is this issue inside the trans pan, outside the trans, or both? Would an aftermarket 2.74:1 low reduce the power capacity? Does it change the OD ratio? If not, how is that even possible? If so, what's the new ratio? 0.67:1, like the 200-4R? Is there an aftermarket 0.6x:1? Without getting a 2.10:1 first? How can the 2.97:1 first have the same 1.57:1 second gear as the 2.74:1? How is it not 3.0:1 like the TH400 it's based on? (Stock TH400s never had 3:1) And while Jake's gets all the acclaim, there must be other equally competent options, surely any of them would do if the car is traction-limited, right? If so, then I'm inclined to go with Performabuilt, not only for probably giving most of the answers, (I hope) but also for supporting this forum that I'm addicted to.
