General shift ? on our 700r4.

I've drove my car quite a bit, parked it for 2 years, and now got it on the road again. It's always shifted great and never had any issues. But I'm curious if anyone else's car shifts like mine. It makes it awkward driving at slow highway speeds or fast city speeds.
My car never will shift into it's last gear until 49mph on the money. As soon as I go slower than 48mph it shifts out of it's highway gear. In both conditions there is no engine braking if I left off the gas....if I leave it in D. But if I manually pull it back a gear it has engine braking.
I'm wondering if my TV cable needs adjusting or not. But honestly it's always shifted great, nice and firm and really no complaints. I just think it's odd that my car absolutely will not shift until exactly 49mph. And also I tach exactly at 2250rpm running at 60mph. Which I'm not complaining about that either, the car does pretty good on gas (all stock 305 tpi) and I rarely have to put it to the floor to pass anyone. LOL!

Are you sure this is a shift you feel @ 49 mph? or is it LOCK UP on the converter?

You know...since I just started driving the car again. I'll have to count how many times it shifts. But I'm pretty sure it's actually changing a gear and not the convertor lock up. It drops like 500rpm when it does it. But I'll check the next time I drive it. Which will be this weekend. I've got a drag link on order and it's in pieces.
