Transmission Symptoms-Need Advice
I have a 700R4/4L60 that I believe traced to a '90 Truck. It has a few odd symptoms that are just not right that I am hoping to get straightened out.
1. When shifting from P to 4th it takes an unusual amount of time to "engage." It just sits for about 2-3 seconds like it is in neutral before "locking." Reverse locks/engages almost instantly (seemingly too fast), but much closer to normal than the P to 4th.
2. When I reach 35mph during (normal daily driving) acceleration it shifts into 3rd then straight into 4th.
3. 1st to 2nd shift is perfect.
4. When in 4th doing around 55mph and then go WOT it does not kick down like it should.
I did some digging around on this and it seems related to the governor. My rear end gears are 3.27. Not really checked WOT shifts at this point. I adjusted the TV so that it is fully extended at WOT.
