I have an 85 iroc with a 700r4 bolted to my sb 350 and third gear has burnt up. I'm trying to divided if I want to change it to a turbo 350 or just rebuild the 700r4.the question I'm needing an answer to is will a turbo 350 Bolt right up to the 350 or do I need to change some stuff around? And what may that be . Thanks Rob

Physically it will bolt right up but you also need a conversion kit. The kickdown cable isn't the same as the 700R4's TV cable. You'll need to run a manifold vacuum line down to the modulator. The transmission mount is about 2" forward. The tailshaft of the TH350 won't have a mounting point for the torque arm. Providing you use a long tailshaft TH350, the same driveshaft can be used.

Just rebuild the 700r4. It's a great trans for a daily driver and they're pretty easy to overhaul.

I would spend the money for a good rebuild kit from Dana at Pro-built automatics and spend the money on the 700R4. Ultimately, you'll be spending about the same.
