Ok,dumb one here ,LOL 86 Z28 factory posi trac ,is it clutch type or cone( as in replace carrier when worn out) ,im thinking its cone,tell me im wrong!!

 

Could be either. Is it a 9 or 10 bolt. If it is 9 it is cone, if it is 10 it is clutch. Another way to tell is if you know what ratio it is because they came in different ratios. 9 bolt: 2.77, 3.08, 3.27 and 3.45. 10 bolt: 2.73, 3.08, 3.23, and 3.42. 3.08 was most comon in the 10 bolts but I have a 9 bolt with 3.08 gears in the garage.

sorry ,left out some important stuff......... its a 7.5 in 10 bolt with 3:73 in it now.......so clutch????????
