T56 swap clutch options

I've been searching this topic and have come across so many different opinions and am unsure which direction to go. I have a pressure plate which is the one stamped c70043 but don't want to run the disk that came with the trans I bought as it is a stock replacement. I'm making close to 500hp now but want to make more in future.

Is it better to run my pp and get a spec 3 or 3+ disk or get another clutch and pp kit?

I've heard bad things about the spec 2 disk since it kevlar. If I had it my way I'd do away with the pull style. But don't want to run a spacer for this setup and push the trans back further. I still need to find a 2 piece rms style flywheel too.

I'm open to all options. I have a center force with my t5 now but it's slipping in high rpm pulls. I just don't want to waste money and buy a clutch twice. Thanks in advance.

Re: T56 swap clutch options

I hope I didn't make a mistake with my purchase. I just got an FX stage 2 clutch kit and a new flywheel. I plan on starting the project sometime today. I've done all types of engine work, but never replaced a clutch. I never had to. This is my first. Hope it turns out ok

Re: T56 swap clutch options

As long as you use alignment tool and torque pressure plate bolts evenly and equally you'll be fine. It'll vibrate if you dont. It's not hard. Did the stage 2 still have the same pressure plate with c70043 stamped on it?

Re: T56 swap clutch options

I've read that alot of the aftermarket clutches still use the c70043 pp. Trying to find out if I just need a new clutch disk and use my pp. I was looking at the spec stage 3+. I'm only making around 500hp at the flywheel but I do want to make more power in the future.
