92 z28 3.1 5 speed 25 anniversary
I'm new at this so if I mess up please forgive me. I can't seem to find the proper part for my transmission, the speed sensor. It's electronic and no one Carey's or makes them. The number I was given is bwd s8301. If anyone knows where I can get one please do let me know

 

You have a V6 Z28?

 

Ya just got it, ran the vin it came up as a z28. Odd yes

 

First off the part number you're looking for is #10456089 and should cost between $50-$80 depending where you buy it. The part is still made and readily available online and at parts stores.

Second there is no way your car is a v6 z28 since z28s were never produced with a v6. So unless someone dropped in a v6, which would never happen, you have a 25th anniversary v6 powered camaro.

 

Regardless of of z28 or not( probably Rs). That is not the part, this is.
Also what gear oil should be used, it says dex iie but that isn't made anymore. Not the sensor, had it checked. So now sol

 

Ah you have the SC40 22mm sensor... So what exactly is the issue you're having?

 

The speedometer isn't working, so I'm guessing it's the resistors in the circuit board blew. That seems to be common issue. There was a post how to fix it but I can't find it now

 

Never say never lol. I got one for you. I part out third gens. A man asked if I wanted to buy his GTA and engine.. Sure let me come look at it. He had an '87 GTA with out an engine and a 91 3.1 L camaro v6 engine on shop floor that he was going to install into the GTA.
