Out of five year storage, I should fix 4th gear T56
So my Camaro has been in storage for a long time while I moved all around the country. I finally have it now where I live. I had swapped out the 4L60E that came with my LT1 swap for a '93 T56. Before I installed it seems like all the gears would shift, but after it was in, 4th gear won't go. If I slam it real hard from 3 to 4, she'll stay in, but if I do a regular shift, she just grinds and wants to come out. I suppose I'd have to take the entire thing out and apart in order to fix the (bent shift fork?) problem.
Is there a better solution? I guess I could throw the automatic back in, as I have all the parts for it yet, but I believe it has a shift solenoid that's bad...

Do you enjoy driving a manual or an automatic more? I believe the answer to that will tell you what you should do.

The 3-4 fork unfortunately requires a significant amount of tear down. But it is a great opportunity to check bearing end play and hopefully be a viable trans. for you for years to come.
