Gearing Question 87 Camaro
I have a 1987 Camaro originally a 2.8 V6
Engine and Transmission been swapped to Carburated 350 5.7 & 700R4 Transmission. I have stock gears in the rear and I was planning to drive my car to my hometown which is 100Kilometers or 60Miles away and I just would like to know what I should expect my RPM to be at. I dont yet have a aftermarket Tac to tell me my RPM

Re: Gearing Question 87 Camaro
Solve for RPM and that is what your RPM should be
(0.00595) * (RPM * r) / (R1 * R2) = vehicle speed in miles/hour
where:
RPM = engine speed, in revolutions/minute
r = loaded tire radius (wheel center to pavement), in inches
R1 = transmission gear ratio
R2 = rear axle ratio
(0.00595) * (RPM * r) / (R1 * R2) = vehicle speed in miles/hour
where:
RPM = engine speed, in revolutions/minute
r = loaded tire radius (wheel center to pavement), in inches
R1 = transmission gear ratio
