Longer Shift Cable for TH200c for 700r4 Shifter?

Sorry if I mess up or do something against the rules, first time post from a first time member.

Anyway, I have a 1982 Camaro Z28 with the wonderful TH200c trans backing the LU5 crossfire injected 305ci. I recently came across a Hurst Dual Gate shifter from a friend and was looking to possibly install it for strictly looks until I get a proper trans and engine in the car. I would only be useing the usual PRND and wouldn't be shifting it manually since it's not a 700r4

I'm already well aware that the bolt holes aren't gonna line up. This car has many odd features my last two Camaro's never had.

My question is for the shift cable. The current one is too short to match up to the shifter arm, so can I use a 700r4 cable with my TH200c? Or maybe use an aftermarket B@M/Hurst cable?

I might be a class "A" chump for even attempting this, but I wanna attempt it anyway. Just for the fact that the Dual Gate is awesome and I want it in my car for shows and stuff.

I'd appreciate any insight you guys can give.

Thanks.
