Whining noise coming from center console - T56
Hi Guys,
Proud owner of a 92 25th with an LSX and T56.
Took the car out of storage today and punched it a bit in 3rd on the highway. All of a sudden I hear this noise sounding like a fluid or air leak coming from around the dash area - thought it was the heater/ AC controls. A few seconds later that's replaced by a gear-like whine coming from the center console. Noise is tied to speed, not engine RPM or any gear. Slows down when I slow down, gets louder as I speed up. Goes away completely below 10mph.
Speedo cable maybe? BTW, my speedo has never worked and I didn't do the swap.
Where and what am I looking for?
