700r4 help!

I have a v6 fed camaro 3.1 with a700r4 and it will shift manually but won't shift automatically at all and once it hits the D gear will drop back down to first

Engine: 350 Vortec, FIRST TPI, 325 RWHP

Transmission: 700R4 3000 stall.

Axle/Gears: 9 Bolt Torsen 3.70

Check the governor. If the gear is chewed up or the valve is stuck, etc it won't shift out of 1st on it's own.
