Want to convert my 83 z-bar to hydraulic... step by step?

Currently have a 2.8 & T5 in my 83, so it has the one-year setup with the z-bar.

Installing a V8 and sticking with a T5, but want to ditch the manual clutch linkage.

What parts do I need? Do I need to replace the pedal assembly? Sure I need a bellhousing and fork.

What steps do I need to do for the conversion? Any links to videos or pictures?

Yeah get pedals from an early-ish hydro model to keep the same neutral switch. The later one is fine too but the wiring connector differs IIRC.

The u-bolt in the firewall, 2 nuts, the master, hose and slave with reservoir. Your nuts and bolts will be the same.

Wrap and secure the hose a bit away from heat and abrasion.

You make it sound so easy! I'm good at taking something off and putting it back on, but when it comes to retrofitting or modifying I get all confused.

Is the install pretty straightforward? Will I have to cut/drill any holes?

The pedals bolt in.
The hole for the upper pushrod should be spot on for the master cylinder.
The U-bolt holes will need opened to fit 8mm threaded ends of the u-bolt, but they may be centered where the pushrod boot screws are. If not, you'll have the support rods (bolted to ends of the pedal pivot bolt) to give you an idea.
The only part that's a pain is getting the u-bolt in and out. It's actually easy if the master is held to the firewall and with practice.

Sent you a PM.
