Transmission: WCT5
Axle/Gears: 3.42
Cost to rebuild a wct5??
Hey guys so I just started my 91 GTA project and without knowing transmissions too well I'm assuming I'll need a rebuild on my 5 speed because second and third gear grind louder than my radio can even go. Has anyone had a shop rebuild theirs and if so how much was it?? Any help would be great as I don't have an unlimited budget

You can get a rebuild kit for 2-400 depending on what you need. IIRC about $1000 is what most of my friend paid. Call around and if you can pull and install it your self it will be cheaper to just drop the unit off.
Autozone is about $1300 after the core is returned
Astro is about $1800 for their 450tq rebuild.
